Rocking Flock of Whimsical Creatures
Custom made for ewe!
Make your choices and we will create a beautiful heirloom rocking sheep for your little one.
Made from solid pine and genuine **vegetable tanned luxury fleece. The fleece is hand shaped and tacked onto the body which can be easily removed for dry cleaning. The fleece is real sheep fleece, making this warm and alive , not like the fake synthetic fur you see.
We have fashioned this rocker with a small riser step for little legs.
Each sheep comes with an Education Card, with the sheep's name and birthday, as well as the history of the breed of sheep they will be riding. They dawn a hand dyed silk ribbon with a sheep bell attached, making it fun to ride. Yes the bell is removable for the sanity of the parents. :-)
Seat height = 20 inches from the ground, 16 inches from the riser
Length = 36 inches
Width = 16 inches
Weight: 25 pounds
Individual hides may vary slightly. The photos are representative of the variety we carry.
The best way to care for your sheepskin is occasional fluffing and brushing with a dog or slicker brush.
To brush your sheepskin, draw the brush from the middle of the hide outward with firm even strokes. Some wool will come out into the brush, that's normal. Shake and fluff the sheepskin before and after brushing.
You can also clean the sheepskin with gentle strokes of a hand held vacuum.
These are natural products, not factory made. Variations in the wool are normal. Dry clean only, do not soak or machine wash.
Do not store long term in a plastic bag to avoid collecting moisture. Sheepskins are best stored in open air with the wool side facing out. Dry clean only, do not soak or machine wash.
**There are various tanning methods being used today. The oldest and most intricate process is vegetable tanning. Vegetable tanning is the traditional method of tanning leather, its method dating back to approximately 6000 BCE. Veg-tanning is an organic method relying on natural vegetable tannins from bark or other plant tissues. Tannins from trees such as oak, chestnut, or mimosa are popular, but hundreds of tree types and other plants are known to have been used. Chrome tanning is faster, but rely on minerals like chromium sulfate, to tan the leather. Chrome tanning can withstand water, and are initially softer, but we have chose vegetable tanning for the following reasons:
Leathers are thick and hard wearing
All materials are biodegradable
Natural feel and “earthy” smell
Feels more organic/‘alive’
